How to use this tool

- Choose the output format. For JPG, choose the colour that will replace transparent areas. Adjust quality for JPG or WebP if needed.
- Leave dimensions unchanged to keep the original pixel size, or set a maximum width or height. The tool keeps the image proportions and does not enlarge it.

Ways to use it
- WebP to JPG for a form
- Make a JPG copy when a form does not accept WebP. Check its file-size and dimension requirements separately before submitting.
- PNG to JPG with a solid background
- Convert a PNG when you no longer need transparency. Choose the JPG background colour before exporting.
- Prepare images for a website
- Create WebP versions for a website that accepts them, and limit oversized image dimensions. Compare the output with the original before replacing it.
Supported files and limits
- Still JPG/JPEG, PNG and WebP images only. HEIC, GIF, SVG, PDF and animated images are not supported.
- Each image must be no more than 24 megapixels, with neither side above 16,384 pixels. Large batches may still exceed the memory available on your device.
- Format conversion creates a new image file. Do not rely on it to retain original metadata, colour profiles or print settings; keep the original when those details matter.
- Browser export support and image content affect the result. A different format may produce a larger file, and JPG or WebP quality adjustments can remove detail.
Common questions
Will a transparent PNG stay transparent when converted to JPG?
No. JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas use the background colour you choose. Select PNG or WebP output if you need to keep transparency.
Why is there no quality setting for PNG?
The browser quality control applies to lossy JPG and WebP output. PNG uses lossless compression, so that control does not make PNG files smaller. Reducing pixel dimensions is a separate option.
Can I change the format without resizing?
Yes. Keep the dimension limits unset to retain the original pixel dimensions. If you set a maximum width or height, the image is reduced proportionally only when it exceeds that limit; it is never enlarged.
Why is the converted image larger than the original?
A format change does not guarantee a smaller file. The original may already be efficiently compressed, or the chosen format may need more space for that image. Compare the sizes and use the image compressor if your main requirement is a maximum file size.
Are my images uploaded during conversion?
No. The tool reads the files you select and converts them in your browser. It does not upload image files or keep server copies. Save the results you need before leaving the page.
