Octopus card access control and entry-record system
This project connects Octopus card registration, door readers and IoT controllers for staff access to designated facilities. Administrators can associate an approved card number with a user, review entry records through a cloud portal and export data for internal audit work.
Card registration
01An authorised user can register an Octopus card through the connected reader.
Administrators can also enter the card identification number directly through the administration portal.
The registration process links the approved card identifier to the relevant user and access permissions.
Readers and door control
02The installation uses a compatible Octopus reader at the relevant access point.
IoT controllers connect the reader to the door-control hardware.
Access rules determine which registered staff or authorised personnel may enter designated restricted facilities.
Monitoring and audit records
03The cloud administration portal records card use at connected access points.
Authorised administrators can review and download entry records.
Exported records can support internal security reviews and compliance reporting.
