What this checker does

  • For sitemap XML, it counts <loc> values with a simple text match and lists the first 20.
  • For robots.txt, it counts Sitemap and Disallow lines and lists the first 30 non-empty lines.
  • It does not fully validate either format, crawl a live site or determine indexability.

Common questions

Can it fetch my live robots.txt?

No. Paste the text you want to inspect.

Does it validate every sitemap rule?

No. It performs basic text detection of <loc> entries only.

Does a Disallow count show whether a URL is indexed?

No. Indexability depends on more than the pasted robots rules.

Is my text always kept in this browser?

Not if you choose Save. Saving sends a short report summary to the website server after verification. Otherwise the pasted text remains in the page form.
